Inconel alloy 740H is a nickel-based, precipitation hardenable superalloy with a unique combination of high strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures and resistance to coal ash corrosion. The alloy is a derivative of Nimonic alloy 263. With the increase of chromium content (24.5%), the high temperature corrosion resistance of 740H alloy is significantly improved. Alloy 740H is age hardened by precipitation of the second phase γ' (γ).
